- I checked out Joakim DJ last night at APT. It was a pretty good night. APT has such a weird vibe. It makes me feel like I'm some random dude standing around cause there is literally no option but to stand around, since the dnacing area is so limited or unavailable. Seeing Joakim at a different club with more space to dance would've been a lot more fun. He played a good set of space disco, minimal and some electro house joints.

R.I.P. Disco D
I didn't have much experience with Disco D. Aside from him being one of the biggest DJ's to introduce me to ghetto tech music and booty bass when I was living in the small town of Savannah. A few months back I got a chance to spin alongside Disco D for Lauren Flax's White Lightning party. He was a very humbled dude, very polite and at one point some disgruntled bridge and tunnel girl passed him a note reading something like, "You're not good enough to be a jerk, I just wanted to know what you were playing..." Dave laughed it off, played his set the way he wanted to and didn't seem like he was playing for anyone but himself.

This is a video I was working on over the summer, that never really got finished, due to technical deficiancies on my part. this being one of the first video type projects I began working on since leaving school in 04. I had fun shooting it and working on it, but after leeting it fall short for so long, i figured I should just put it up. New projects currently in the works, exclusively for Dirty Down Blog.
